INTRODUCING YOUR ORTHODONTIST, Dr. Claire Furness.
Claire is originally from the UK where she trained as a dentist, graduating from the University of Bristol in 2006. She completed her Orthodontic training in 2013 at Kings College, London obtaining the Master of Orthodontics qualification and Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Claire then went on to complete a further two years of training in order to obtain her Fellowship before being appointed as a Consultant Orthodontist at Dorset County Hospital, Dorchester. In this role she gained a significant amount of experience managing children and adults referred into hospital with complex orthodontic and jaw problems. During this time Claire was also heavily involved in teaching, training and examining trainee orthodontists, dental students and orthodontic therapists. Looking for a new challenge Claire then relocated to the fantastic city of Melbourne with her family.
Claire is passionate about straightening teeth and achieving the best result for her patients. She prides herself on communicating the options and plan in ways her younger patients and their parents can understand. She takes time to explain all stages of treatment, alleviating any anxieties that her patients may have.
Outside of work Claire spends her time looking after her two active young boys, exploring the many parks and playgrounds in Melbourne. She loves to spend her time hiking, running, cycling and exploring new places.
She looks forward to welcoming you to the practices in Williamstown and Hoppers Crossing.
