An overbite is usually used to describe an increased overlapping of the teeth at the front of the mouth.

This leads to a lack of support of either the upper or lower teeth, and crooked teeth usually soon follow. Other conditions associated with overbites include;

  • Front teeth sticking out
  • Crooked teeth
  • Deep bite

Overbites may indicate either a combination of a jaw mismatch or teeth mismatch.

Left untreated overbite may lead to increased wear and tear on the teeth.

Is an overbite good? Is it bad? Should it be treated?
