Dr. Yunlong (Lon) KangSpecialist Orthodontist

biography

Dr. Lon’s orthodontic career spans across three different countries. He has obtained three qualifications in orthodontics which allow him to practice as a specialist orthodontist in both China and Australia, as well as research at the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, United States of America.

Lon practiced orthodontics in Hong Kong and China for several years before he relocated to Australia in 2012. He continued his career in Australia as the lecturer in orthodontics at James Cook University Queensland and also the director of the undergraduate orthodontic program. Determined to perfect his skills, he pursued further study at the University of Melbourne and obtained his Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics in 2016.

Despite his travels, Lon is proud to call Melbourne home and looks forward to helping our patient’s with their orthodontic needs. Lon is experienced in all aspects of orthodontics including Invisalign.

Apart from his significant qualifications, it is Lon’s kind nature and friendly personality that make him a very well liked and respected orthodontist.

When not creating beautiful smiles for patient’s, Lon can be found enjoying a round of golf or going to the gym. He also enjoys playing basketball with his friends and traveling with his wife.

When visiting us at the practice, patient’s can look forward to Lon sharing one of his many travel stories or hilarious adventures about his beloved pets.
